The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety rates vehicles based on high-speed front and side crash tests, a rollover test, and evaluations of seat/head restraints. Dual-stage frontal air bags for the driver and front seat passenger, which automatically vary their inflation speed and pressure depending on the severity of the crash and help reduce the risk of air bag-related injury.
Passenger Sensing System, which automatically turns the front passenger’s air bag on or off, depending on the weight and pressure on the seat.
Side-impact air bags for the front seat occupants, which provide additional protection in instances when the vehicle is struck from the side.
Head Curtain side air bags for outboard passengers in every row, which help reduce the risk of injuries in a moderate to severe side impact or a rollover.

Buick Vehicle Safety Passenger Sensing Air Bags

PASSENGER SENSING SYSTEM FOR FRONTAL AIR BAGS

For smarter air bag deployment, the front passenger’s seat in your vehicle includes a Passenger Sensing System. It includes sensors embedded in the seat that detect weight and pressure to determine when there is a passenger in the front seat, if that passenger is a smaller adult and if the front passenger air bag needs to deploy in a crash.

Buick Vehicle Safety Features Side Blind Zone Alert Mirrors

SIDE BLIND ZONE ALERT(3)

This available system uses radar to help you watch your blind zone. When a car enters your blind zone, it will display a signal in your outside mirror.

Buick Stabilitrack and Full-Time Traction Control for Vehicle Safety

STABILITRAK AND FULL-TIME TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEMS

Both the StabiliTrak and full-time traction control systems constantly monitor to help maintain traction and help the driver stay on the path being steered for enhanced directional control.

REARVIEW CAMERA SYSTEM

The Rear Vision Camera turns on automatically when the vehicle is placed in Reverse. It displays a live image of the area behind the vehicle on the dash-mounted screen to help give you more confidence when backing up. This available feature requires the audio system with navigation.

TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM

To enhance your safety and peace of mind, most Buick vehicles come equipped with an automatic Tire Pressure Monitoring System. When the pressure of a tire drops significantly low, a light warns you to take action. Although it doesn’t replace regular checks, the system does help you prevent dangerous blowouts caused by underinflation.
