Unlock, lock, and start your vehicle with your key card

The key card gives you another way to unlock, lock, and start your vehicle. If equipped, you will receive one key card in addition to your key fob(s). See your dealer to purchase more key cards (up to 7) or replacements for lost cards.

Your key card lets you access and start your vehicle, so store it securely as you would your key fob. To maintain its function, never place the key card on or near any wireless charging surfaces.

Unlock the driver’s door and start your vehicle

  1. Briefly hold your key card at the card reader (location varies by model and is shown on the back of the card).
  2. After unlocking, start your vehicle within 2 minutes.
    — A timer will show in your center display.
  3. If the timer runs out, hold your key card at the designated location again.
    — This requires touching the key card to the reader an additional time (the first time locks the vehicle).

Lock your vehicle (all doors)

  1. Make sure the vehicle is off and all doors and windows are closed.
  2. Briefly hold your key card at the spot shown on the reverse side of the card.
    — If at least one door is unlocked, this will lock the vehicle.

Note: For service visits, always bring your key fob with you to the dealership to ensure technicians can access the vehicle.

Note: See your dealer if you have issues with your key card. Your dealer can deactivate lost key cards to help prevent unauthorized vehicle access.
