About Front and Rear Park Assist

If your vehicle has this available feature, Front and Rear Park Assist provides alerts of nearby detected vehicles and objects in front of or behind your vehicle to help you park and avoid collisions.

What does front and rear park assist do?

1. Front and Rear Park Assist uses ultrasonic sensors located on the front and rear bumpers to detect objects.

2. The sensors are designed to detect objects up to 6 feet behind the vehicle and up to 4 feet in front of the vehicle.

3. When the system detects an object, you’ll hear some low-pitched beeps.

4. The closer you get to a detected object, the faster the beeps.

a. If your vehicle has the Safety Alert Seat, you’ll feel pulses on both sides of the seat (depending on your selected Alert Type menu option).

b. The closer you get to a detected object, you’ll feel more Safety Alert Seat pulses.

5. As you approach a detected object behind you, you’ll see caution triangles on the Rear Vision Camera Display.

a. They’ll go from yellow to red the closer you get.

6. You’ll also see a Park Assist graphic in the driver display with bars that show how close you are to the detected object.

a. As the object gets closer, more bars light up and the bars change color from yellow to red.

b. On some vehicles, the Park Assist display will also have a guideline showing you the path of your vehicle.

7. If an object is within 2 feet of the rear bumper, you’ll hear 5 repeating beeps.

a. If your vehicle has the Safety Alert Seat, you’ll feel 5 pulses on both sides of the seat.

8. If an object is within 1 foot of the front or rear bumper, you’ll hear a continuous beep for 3 seconds and get the alerts described above.

If your vehicle has the Safety Alert Seat, you’ll feel 5 pulses on both sides of the seat
