If equipped, Ambient Lighting lets you adjust your cabin lighting to meet your needs and preferences. Choose from a selection of colors and make adjustments for a more expressive driving experience.
How to adjust the ambient lighting
Access ambient lighting using the Ambient Lighting app on the Home screen of your center display. Touch the app to choose the color and brightness of the ambient lighting throughout the passenger cabin.
To turn the feature on and off, slide the on-screen toggle to the opposite position.
Adjust your ambient lighting brightness:
1. Brightness: Drag your finger up or down the scale.
2. Tap the up and down arrows (on some models, tap the + or – icons).
3. On some models, you can select Sync Brightness to apply the same adjustments to all effects at once.
On some models, you simply touch a dot on the palette to select that color of lighting, while others offer more customization options.
Adjust your ambient lighting color under the Custom or Customize tab (if equipped):
1. Touch the dot representing the area of lighting you’d like to adjust.
2. Select the effect name to display color variants.
3. Touch the desired color swatch.
4. Touch Confirm.
− Select Sync to apply the same selection to all cabin areas at once (if equipped).
− Select Undo to revert to the previous selection (if equipped).
5. Save your set of selections for future use by touching Save to Styles. Access under the Styles tab (if equipped).
The number of lighting zones in your cabin will vary by vehicle. If your vehicle has Auto Guide Lights, areas of the cabin will light up as your hand reaches toward them.
Adjusting ambient lighting in the Ambient Lighting app:
1. Tap the app in the Home screen.
2. Scroll to the menu item you want:
− Turn ambient lighting on or off.
− Control the brightness by sliding your finger along the bar scale to the desired brightness.
− Enable or disable Demo Mode.
− Enable or disable Link to Drive Mode.
− Enable or disable Auto Guide Lights, if equipped.
Note: On some vehicles, ambient lighting will also provide supplemental white lighting in certain situations when the overhead dome lights turn on.
Modes (if equipped)
Some models have on-screen buttons that control preprogrammed functions.
- Demo Mode: Activates a light show that cycles through all available interior lighting colors. Moving out of PARK (or releasing the parking brake in vehicles with manual transmissions) reverts to your last selected mode.
- Link/Set to Drive Mode: Interior lighting will change to a color predefined by the driving mode you choose. When you change modes—for example, from Normal (or Tour) to Sport—the ambient lighting will change to the corresponding color. This option overrides your selected color on the color palette.
