How to send Remote Commands to your vehicle
The myBuick mobile app
Using the remote start command
Start the vehicle so it’s ready for your departure or cancel a remote start
- From the app’s home screen on the My Vehicle tab, press and hold the center Climate icon (on some vehicles, you tap the Start icon).
- The button will say “Sent” once the command is successful.
- On equipped vehicles, tapping the center Climate or Start icon again turns the vehicle or Climate off and/or changes temperature.
Remote lock/unlock
Remotely unlock or lock your vehicle’s doors.
- From the My Vehicle tab on the app’s Home screen, tap the Lock or Unlock icon.
In addition to remote start and lock/unlock
- Stop/start alarm: Tap the Sound Alarm or Stop Alarm icon.
- Flash lights: Tap the Flash Lights icon or the Stop Lights icon.
If the command fails, here are some things to check before attempting the command again:
- Remove the key fob from the vehicle and ensure any manual key is removed from the ignition.
- Make sure you are at least 10 feet away from the vehicle.
- Check that all doors and the trunk, hood and gas cap are closed.
- Make sure hazard lights are turned off.
If an error occurs while trying to use a remote command, go to your app’s Command History page, then:
- Tap your initials > Settings > Command History.
- Tap the Triangle icon to view the error and recommended resolution.
‒ If no errors are identified, continue to the next step.
- Start the vehicle, let it run for 60 seconds, then turn the vehicle off.
- Retry the remote command.
