Because Every Moment Matters
Safe travels start with aware drivers. That’s why all Buick vehicles offer available safety and driver assistance features that help you keep your senses sharp and your confidence high.
Safety or driver-assistance features are no substitute for the driver’s responsibility to operate the vehicle in a safe manner. The driver should remain attentive to traffic, surroundings and road conditions at all times. Visibility, weather and road conditions may affect feature performance. Read the vehicle Owner’s Manual for more important feature limitations and information.
To help make you more aware of your surroundings, select Buick models offer a suite of integrated cameras to give you an overhead virtual “birds-eye” view of the scene around your vehicle.
When certain hazards are detected, your Buick can trigger alerts to let you know. Some features offered on select models can even apply the brakes or gently nudge the steering wheel to help you avoid crashes or reduce their severity in some situations.
In the event of a crash, strong structural dynamics, intelligent airbag systems† and other advanced safety systems work in concert to help protect you and your passengers.
ACTIVE SAFETY TECHNOLOGIES
STAY ONE STEP AHEAD
You never know what hazards the road will bring. But you can engineer safety technologies that are so sophisticated, so intuitive, they can help you respond to them. That’s exactly what we did with these available active safety technologies, offered on select models.
RAISE YOUR AWARENESS
Available Front Pedestrian Braking can let you know when a pedestrian is detected directly ahead. If a collision is imminent, and you haven’t already applied the brakes, audio and visual alerts are triggered and the brakes may be automatically applied.
KEEP MOVING FORWARD
If a front-end collision situation while following a detected vehicle is imminent, Forward Collision Alert can alert you to a potential crash. It also can alert you if you’re following a potential detected vehicle much too closely.
CHANGE LANES MORE CONFIDENTLY
Available Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert provides side-mirror alerts to help you avoid a moving vehicle detected in your side blind zone, or a vehicle that is rapidly approaching your side blind zone during a lane-change maneuver.
A NUDGE IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION
Available Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning can provide gentle steering wheel turns to help you avoid unintentionally drifting out of your lane when you are not actively steering and your turn signal is not activated. It also can provide lane departure warnings if needed.
A HEADS-UP BACKUP PLAN
When in Reverse, available Rear Cross Traffic Alert can provide alerts to help you avoid approaching detected left or right cross traffic. This is especially helpful when you’re backing out of your driveway or a crowded parking space.
ADVANCED SAFETY SYSTEMS
PEACE OF MIND FOR YOUR BUSY LIFE
Whether you’re flying solo, handling carpool duties or allowing your teen to get behind the wheel, available innovative in-vehicle systems help raise your confidence level.
Available OnStar® provides crucial safety services such as Automatic Crash Response† and Roadside Assistance,† along with the comforting sounds of a human voice.
COACH YOUR TEEN
If equipped, available Teen Driver mode helps you coach your teen’s driving behaviors — even when you’re not there. Set a speed alert and audio volume limit and automatically enable certain available active safety features. Then, use the in-vehicle report card to track your teen’s performance behind the wheel.
When certain available collision-avoidance technologies trigger a warning, the left and/or right side of the driver seat cushion of the Safety Alert Seat (available on select models) gently vibrates to signal the direction of the approaching hazard. For some types of alerts, both sides of the seat vibrate at the same time.
Your safety is very important to us. If you want to determine whether or not there is a recall on your current vehicle or on a vehicle you are considering buying, visit www.nhtsa.gov/recalls or call (888) 327-4236.
